Fabrica de Tabacos Raíces Cubanas is regarded as one of the best Honduran manufacturers of cigars, rolling for brands such as Alec Bradley, Illusione, and Viaje. At IPCPR 2013, Raíces Cubanas 1941 was debuted to be distributed by Alec Bradley, marking the first time Raíces Cubanas had released a cigar bearing their own factory’s name. The cigar, featuring a dark brown Honduran wrapper, Nicaraguan binder and Honduran and Nicaraguan fillers, was renowned by connoisseurs, but has now been out of production for a number of years. In 2021, Privada Cigar Club was approached by Hugo Endemaño of Raíces Cubanas about reproducing the original famed 1941 blend. This rerelease, aged two years since rolling, delivers a medium-to-full-bodied experience with flavors ranging from earthy to sweet, including notes of pepper, cream, and caramel. This month, LCA Plus offers an opportunity to experience a spectacular blend that many collectors feared had been lost to the ages.
